Trick the time on your plate!
We often overwhelm ourselves with how little time we have to ourselves. We think about how much we could do if we had a little bit of extra time. I won’t shame you for having such thoughts because it’s entirely human to feel it, and this feeling is common in people more than we can think. The only difference is that a group of them focuses on the cure and the other group doesn’t.
The way you can work this is by
making a fake routine to trick your mind into thinking that you have a lot to
do, and you have multiple jobs to do every day. Now let me tell you about the
insight of this entire system,
The human mind works in hyper
hyperactive way. No matter what kind of thoughts you are having all day.
Productive, unproductive, intrusive, or simply doubting. Whatever you think
your mind is, it’s quite the opposite state. Very much like the pink elephant,
where you are told not to think about it, but that’s the first thing you think
about immediately. The trick is to sneak in the productivity in the disguise of
that pink elephant so you can divert your general negative thoughts aside for a
little while.
Make that fake routine.
Pack your schedule like you are the
busiest person in the house. Add more work and tasks, including the ones you
have to do in real life. And when you start, you will see the magic happening
to you eventually. As you start working with an invisible pressure that doesn’t
exist yet, you will get a sense of drive to work. And while working, you will
be getting thoughts of actually starting the extra work too. Passion attracts
more passion, and energy attracts energy. Just like your anxious thoughts bring
out more anxiety. So why don’t we try and convert that spirit into something
that’s helpful. Sneaky but helpful.
Most of the time, we don’t believe
in things until we do them. So instead of telling you to do something, I am
telling you HOW to do it. Micro habits help us more than we think it does. Just
a little shift can make us walk a long way. In the generation where
overthinking is a major issue, why don’t we manipulate it for our own
good?
I have spent my early twenties with different issues, where I couldn’t focus on the bare minimum stuff until I figured out how self-manipulation can bring a sense of positivity in our lives. Just by thinking that you want to get out of an exhausting loop is enough to get you out of it. The only investment regarding this issue is, you have to believe in it every day and take one leap of courage. I could do it, doesn’t mean you can too, but guess what? Maybe you can do even better than I! Good luck.
