Dealing with a noisy mind.
The more you resist, the noisier it gets.
There are moments where you’re simply lying down and your heartbeat gets faster without any valid reason. It’s like being attacked with silence while being silent. That’s what makes everything harder than it is. Because when it’s loud, we crave silence, but when silence becomes chaos, what do we do?
The complexity of a noisy mind is that we can’t describe a noisy mind properly when someone asks what’s wrong. That question somehow becomes the catalyst for more chaos in our minds because we can’t find a proper answer to deliver.
Now, we will walk through the navigation of this problem and find the answer. Most of the time, the answers are foreshadowed in the questions. And that’s what we’re about to focus on here.
- Face the uncomfortable questions, but only from yourself.
The questions that are asked by someone else should start coming from yourself. Ask a lot of Whys and Hows. “Why is it hurting?” “I don’t know.” “Can you try to?” “I don’t know.” “Would you have a little water?” “Yes.”
Keep asking yourself questions until the answer is something else instead of “I don’t know.” The answer needs a clear path to get to you, and in this tightened-up situation, you’re the only one who can handle this patiently and let the cure come to you.
Let it flow through you.
You can’t keep the windows closed and hope to breathe freely. Your room will get congested with dirt, smoke, and unwashed mess. You feel like you’re guarding yourself and helping the environment by keeping everything to yourself, but the nature outside is also waiting for your mess to transform it into something better. You have to let every thought cross your mind to the other side because that thought is meant to cross, not get trapped.
If a bad thought is popping up, let it pass through you and fly somewhere else.
Listen to white noise or brown noise.
There are many videos that go on for hours that contain white noise or brown noise. Listening to them might be helpful to some extent, but not as much as it would if you communicate with yourself like I talked about in the previous points. But this can be a small step towards the last two ways. When you walk a little, you get to see two other ways to reach your destination. And everything slowly unfolds before you.
The only win in this is, it’s your magic that gets unfolded in front of you, and that’s worth everything.
